i am albert i have lived and worked in china for a number of years , i used to be a teacher for a government school but up until recently i have starting my own limited liability company in china, changsha.
i will like to say here that i do have a family in changsha thus married to a local chinese respectable woman with two daughters.
i have contacted you before about where to buy health insurance for my self and my family and i do remember your outfit did direct me to the labor office in chnagsha which is situated at the intersection of furong road and wuyi road , i did go over to the government building and spoke to an officer who stated categorically clear to me that i am not a chinese citizen and can not have access to health insurance form them even thou i am living and working in china legally.it did puzzle me a bit but i let it go and decided to try other ways to get it done. i went to ping an insurance company whom after getting their agent to come to my house interview me and my family ,got me to pay for all the insurance bill through my wifes bank account, they ping an did accept the insurance application for my wife and first daughter both chinese nationals, later they accepted that of my second daughters application, she is an american citizen.but my application was denied and stated very clearly by ping an insurance that i can not buy health issurance because i am from ghana and not the u.s.a.???
i would be very happy to know if the laws of china governing or regulating issurance provide or gives the yardstick to isurance companies to deny applicants who live and work in china legally just because of their nationalty, its just feels like americans should live but from ghana well you can die ! i am sorry for my words they might not be too pleasant but i am a bit frustrated here.i would like to as this question again, where can i please be able to get health insurance for my self as a ghanaian living and working legally in china ?

您好！您6月29日致市长信箱的信件《issueswithhealthinsurance》已批转至我办办理。为切实了解保险相关法律法规情况，我办专门致函湖南保监局咨询相关事宜，了解到现有保险法律法规对商业保险投保人国籍问题没有明确规定。但是根据《保险法》第十一条规定：“订立保险合同，应当协商一致，遵循公平原则确保各方的权利和义务。除法律行政法规规定必须保险的外，保险合同自愿订立。”因此，保险合同的签订是由各保险公司根据风险情况自行掌握。您所需购买的保险并不属于行政法规规定必须保险，而是保险公司自行掌握开办的保险，属于商业行为，政府不能使用行政手段进行限制和干涉。若您确有需要购买保险，可咨询其他保险公司。另外，您也可通过咨询湖南保监局了解相关情况。
