summary/scope of position
country environmental, health and safety (ehs) leader supporting the global sales and marketing (gsm) and control products and solutions (cps) businesses operating in china.
responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the company field organization and non-operation ehs programs.
provides leadership and technical resources to ensure business compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental (including product related) government regulations as well as rockwell automation policies and procedures.
coordinate assessment and implementation of program conformance needs to meet specialized customer ehs program demands and high risk industry requirements.
essential functions
functional expertise
leader in the support, implement and maintain the rockwell automation environmental and safety management systems to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations as well as rockwell automation policies and procedures.
participate in and provide assistance with government agencies’ field visits for the purpose of understanding the regulations and to ensure compliance.
support, implement, maintain and modify where necessary headquarters environmental, health and safety field and non-operations orientated policies and procedures to ensure compliance to the environmental, health and safety permits and regulations – special attention needed for oil/petrochemical and mining industry specifications.
provide technical support, input and coordination on environmental, health and safety issues that affect projects and processes at the country level.
complete environmental, health and safety permits, reports, forms and surveys as required by regulation and/or rockwell automation policy and procedures for the field and non-operations organization, and submit them on a timely basis and in a professional manner.
respond to customer requests for ehs plans such as safety manual for on-site project work, and support the project implementation plan.
report monthly injury/illness metrics to hq-ehs; support the investigation of injury and illnesses; analyze work related injury and illness data to identify and implement actions to prevent a reoccurrence of the injury/illness; and support efforts to return employees to productive work within assigned medical restrictions.
ensure that environmental, health and safety assessments, personal protective equipment, procedures, training and other control measures as required by regulation and/or rockwell automation policy and procedures are provided for the field and non-operations personnel.
support environmental product compliance (permit registration, weee, rohs, others) with local and country entities. support product safety/liability issues as requested.

education requirements
b.s or similar college degree in occupational safety, environmental sciences or engineering required. independent, developed observation skills, fluent in writing and speaking english, and have the ability to effectively communicate with various levels of the field business and sales organizations is a must.
experience requirements
a minimum of 3 years of experience directly related to the environmental, health and safety aspects in a manufacturing or field service organization.
country/regional experience, familiarity with mining and oil/petrochemical regulatory agency requirements and enforcement methods to achieve compliance is a plus.
strong communication skills and a team-oriented style are critically important for this individual.
travel and flexible hours are key requirements.
